BRATISLAVA (FIBA U19 World Championship for Women) - Maya April Moore poured in a game-high 24 points as the United States clinched a place in the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women final with a 69-46 triumph over Spain.
Spain duo Laura Nicholls Gonzalez (11 points) and Tamara Abalde Diaz (10) were the only other players to notch double figures in a low-scoring second semi-final in Bratislava.
The United States were always in control after clinching the first quarter 20-14, and went on to edge further ahead in each of the remaining periods.
The second quarter was a more evenly-matched affair, but the Americans still had the better of it at 12-10 to find themselves eight points up at the midway point.
However, the second half of the game saw the USA really assert their authority, clinching it 23-15 before taking the final 10 minutes 14-7.
The victors will contest the final in the Slovakian capital against Sweden, who beat Serbia 85-75 earlier on Saturday.
