BRATISLAVA (FIBA U19 World Championship for Women) - Korea saw off the challenge of Far East neighbours China 67-63 in the eighth finals to progress to the quarter-finals of the FIBA Under-19 World Championship for Women in Bratislava.

Hye Bae and Ajeong Kang starred for the victors, each collecting 20 points, with Hye Bae adding six rebounds and Ajeong Kang two as Korea progressed to the quarter-finals.

Korea overcame a five-point deficit after the first quarter to win the remaining three periods and leave China to compete for ninth place in the ninth-12th-place classification games.

Yang Lui collected a game-high nine rebounds for China, with team-mates Jinzhu Wu and Meiling Zeng each picking up seven, but despite their domination of the boards, China could not convert the points.

Jinzhu Wu scored 13 points, while Yang Lui added 12, but Korea were dominant at the net, with Hyejin Park claiming 16 points and two assists.

It was Korea`s second successive victory following the win over Lithuania and the defeat to tournament favourites, the USA.
